Prayer Points

Week 7

This week lets pray while thinking about the Unity we have in Christ

lets read together

Eph 2:11-22

Romans 15: 5-7

University of Western Australia - Christian Union (WA)

-- Thank God for the great turnout that we had at the Collision event we ran with the UWA Atheist and Agnostic Society last month (we sold out the Tav!). Pray that CUers who brought friends along will continue to talk with them about the gospel.

-- Pray that the attendance at our ‘Issues with God’ events (which are a follow-up to Collision) will continue to be good. Pray that the discussion of the issues will be robust but friendly, and that God would be at work in the people that come along.

-- Thank God that we now have people who are able to run a Chinese-language Bible study, and thank God for the people who are willing to put the time and effort into it. Pray that this will help us to minister more effectively to international students at UWA.

International College of Management, Sydney - Students for Christ (NSW)

-- Praise God for the Christian group being formally recognised as ‘Students For Christ’ (SFC) last term.

-- Pray that we will be able to sign up many new studets for SFC on Commencement Day (17 Sept).

-- Pray that God would give our members wisdom and boldness to invite friends along for weekly Bible studies (commencing 21 Sept).

Charles Sturt University, Orange – Orange Christian Students (NSW)

-- Thank God for the training that a good number of students did in “Making the Most of Church”. Pray that they would serve well in their churches now and in the future.

-- Pray for the new committee—Kevin, John, Daniel and Liam. Pray that we would work well together proclaiming Jesus on campus.

-- Pray for our evangelistic dinner (week beginning 20 Sept). Pray that God would work in the hearts of the people that the students will invite.

University of New South Wales - Campus Bible

Study (NSW)

-- Praise God for the ‘soap boxing’ that happened on campus during mission. Thank God for giving students boldness, conviction in the gospel and the words to say. Pray that the Spirit will use these words to help those who are outside the kingdom at the moment come to know Christ. Thank God for Lewis Jones’ talks dealing with

issues of the new athiesm.

-- Pray for students to be inviting friends to read the Bible with them personally or in Bible study groups this semester.

-- Thank God for those who have become Christian over mission. Pray that they will stand firm in Christ.

-- Pray that our Uni leavers evening (20 Sept) will equip those leaving campus to know what to expect of work, unemployment and be shaped by kingdom decisions.

-- September is the month of talking to potential ministry trainees for 2011 and starting to raise money with them. Please ask God would raise up men and women who will set aside other work for the sake of seeing people know Jesus. Pray also that God would provide the money needed for this to happen.

-- The Law faculty held an event called “Perspectives on Freedom” where they  looked at what Christ has to offer us when it comes to freedom. Thank God that non-Christians came to this event. Thank God that the Law students are thinking about how to reach their friends. And thank God that Jesus died to give us freedom. Pray for the other faculties as they seek to do specific evangelistic events this month that will help others know Jesus.
